Art-filled Apartment on Central Park

The homeowner is a leader in the museum world with a vast art collection. The primary agenda for this full-floor apartment was to create the right backdrop for canvases and sculptures throughout. Thus, the biggest architectural moves can be seen in the decorative ceilings, cornices and intricate floor patterns, while the walls are left smooth and unembellished to allow space for the art.

The spacious central hallway, accentuated at its center with a dome, is wide enough to allow art to be viewed from a proper perspective, typically not possible in most prewar apartment internal hallways.
