Penthouse Duplex on the Upper East Side
This penthouse was transformed from a typical apartment in a storied Park Avenue building, to an iconic duplex for a connoisseur and antiques collector and her family. Combining several maids’ rooms created the space for three children’s bedrooms, while taking over an art studio on the roof allowed for the addition of an office, sunlit family room, and wraparound dining terrace with views of Manhattan in three directions.
The materials of this apartment are layered and exciting with fine craftsmanship in compliment to the antiques. Every aspect of the finishes was considered and designed, from wood grain direction to stainless steel lined umbrella storage. While the furnishings are museum quality, this dynamic apartment is family friendly and by no means a museum.
